Largest AgroVIR implementation project completed at Bonafarm Group

Problem

AXIOS Group, one of Romania's largest agricultural companies, manages approximately 20,000 hectares of land, making the scale and complexity of its operations a significant challenge. With a strong focus on growth and modernization, AXIOS consistently seeks innovative solutions to enhance its operations.

The company’s fleet generates large amounts of data daily, including performance metrics, fuel consumption, and engine hours from its tractors and combine harvesters. Previously, AXIOS relied on paper-based data collection, which was time-consuming and prone to errors. To overcome these inefficiencies, AXIOS implemented Wialon fleet tracking system, allowing for the automatic collection of telemetry data. Wialon provided an excellent platform for data collection and was a crucial step in digitalizing machinery data.

However, while Wialon allowed for the collection of telemetric data, AXIOS still lacked a unified platform to centralize this data, provide real-time insights, and enable detailed field-level cost calculations to optimize resource use across its extensive operations.

Solution

To address this challenge, AXIOS collaborated with VisibleFarm, to integrate the data from Wialon directly into their farm management software, AgroVIR. VisibleFarm was responsible for executing the data connection that would centralize and standardize all incoming data.

VisibleFarm used Wialon’s API to gather key telemetry data from AXIOS’s fleet, including real-time machine locations, fuel consumption, engine hours, and field performance metrics. They also integrated data from AGCO’s system, incorporating ISOBUS data for even more precise analysis of machinery performance and cost metrics.

The integration used the JSON standard to ensure compatibility between systems and to streamline data conversion. This allowed the data to be easily processed by AgroVIR, providing AXIOS with real-time insights into machine activities and enabling automated cost calculations and resource tracking.

Key Functionalities:

  • Automatic Field Recognition: One of the most valuable functionalities of the system is its ability to automatically recognize which field a tractor is working on. This information is seamlessly added to the cost accounting system for each field, providing a comprehensive view of operational expenses.
  • Real-Time Monitoring: AXIOS can now monitor machine positions, speed, fuel consumption, and performance metrics in real time.
  • Cost Automation: The system automatically integrates machine data with field-level cost calculations, providing detailed and precise expense tracking for each field.

Result

As a result of the successful integration, AXIOS Group now has real-time access to data from 15 Fendt tractors through the AgroVIR system. While the system is still in the testing phase, early results confirm that the integration is working as intended.

The integration has enabled AXIOS to monitor machine performance in detail, calculate precise field-level costs, and optimize resource management. By automating data collection and processing, the company has significantly reduced manual data entry errors and improved operational efficiency.
